HELLDIVER CTR
Courtenay BC August 5, 2001
Ride Managers: Karen Ellis & Deb Middleton
Vets: Drs. Patrick OBrien & Bruce Renyoit
Location: Norwood Equestrian Centre - Courtenay
This was the second time the Helldiver 2001 has run out of the Norwood Equestrian Centre in Courtenay. A total of 40 horses & riders started the CTR in the pouring rain, which really did not let up all day. But as true long distance riders they all proved to be - no complaints about the weather were heard. They will run, rain or shine.
This ride featured a lot of first time riders with a great cross section of breeds represented from Quarter Horses, Arabians, Morgans, Appaloosas, Gaited Breeds, Peruvian Pasos and even a purebred Percheron. Sarge a black Percheron owned by Marc Felgenhauer of Courtenay put in a great ride for his owner.
Fortunately all involved were able to take refuge and shelter in the indoor arena where everyone was able to stay drier and enjoy the supper provided and awards ceremony. |
